Yes! The program is part of the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) announced in Budget 2021 and was launched March 3, 2022. It is expected that up to 160,000 businesses will go through the program in the next 4 years.

Before filling out the application for CDAP, we will work with you to ensure you are in a great position to qualify for one of the CDAP streams. Eligibility requirements include such things as being a Canadian business, having revenues between $500K and $100MM, and no more than 499 employees. The assessment criteria for applications by the CDAP team are based on:
• Suitability of the digitization project under the program requirements
• Capacity of the recipient to manage the project
• Ability to implement and carry out the project
• Budget being justified and sound

As CDAP has just launched in March 2022 and is scheduled to assist SMEs until 2025, no deadlines have been communicated to date. Once your application is approved, Wingman charges a fee to your business to help you develop your Digital Adoption Plan grant application. Our fees are reimbursed at 90% by CDAP up to $15,000 to cover these activities.

CDAP launched in March 2022. The latest information is available on CDAP’s official page here. Submission details will vary as it’s dependent on the stream you’re applying for, which is based on your requirements. Your business must be Canadian incorporated for-profit business having less than 500 employees to be eligible to apply. You must also have earned a minimum of $500K (up to a maximum of $100MM) in any of the previous three years at time of application. The program is available in all 10 provinces and 3 territories. There are two streams and four key activities within CDAP.
1. Grow Your Business Online
a. Receive a $2,400 micro-grant to enable your small businesses in adopting e-commerce technologies.

2. Boost Your Business Technology
a. Receive up to $15,000 Boost Your Business Technology adoption plan grant to have an official Digital Advisor like Wingman assist you in developing a digital adoption plan for your business.
b. Upon having your Digital Adoption Plan approved by CDAP, you can then receive up to $100,000 interest free loan from the BDC to assist you in executing your unique Plan.
c. Upon having your Digital Adoption Plan approved by CDAP, you can receive 2 $7,300 hiring subsidy to bring on a Hire-a-Student worker to assist in implementing your unique Plan.

Eligible costs are costs incurred in Canada by the applicant directly associated with retaining a registered Digital Advisor and for the direct production of a Digital Adoption Plan for the applicant.

Eligible costs include:
1. Fees, commissions and charges by organizations providing Digital Advisory services and registered on the Digital Advisor Marketplace website for the production of a Digital Adoption Plan;
2. Applicable federal and/or provincial sales taxes applied to the fees and commissions charged by the Digital Advisors listed on the Digital Advisor Marketplace and only for the purpose of producing a Digital Adoption Plan for the funding recipient.

Yes. Wingman received certification as an approved CDAP Digital Advisor on March 11, 2022 from the Canada Digital Adoption Program, as a part of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.

Yes. If needed, we will gladly walk you through the entire application process from preparation, Digital Needs Assessment (DNA) through to submission. The approval for the Boost Your Business Technology grant takes roughly 5 business days.

Note: The actual execution of the CDAP approved Digital Adoption Plan is not included in the Boost Your Business Technology Grant. If your particular approved Plan includes services we offer, Wingman can negotiate a contract with you at that time to execute on those services. But there is no obligation to use Wingman’s digital services after the Plan is submitted and approved by CDAP.
